Hyderabad: Woman dragged by autorickshaw

The driver who drove the vehicle for around 100 meters stopped after the public raised an alarm.

Hyderabad: A woman aged around 25 was dragged by an autorickshaw when she attempted to board it at Hyderguda on Tuesday. The driver who drove the vehicle for around 100 meters stopped after the public raised an alarm. Later, he sped away leaving the woman. The woman also left the spot with her child. Police said they did not receive any complaint but is checking CCTV cameras. A video of the incident went viral on the Net.

On Tuesday, at around 8.30 am, a woman, suspected to be drunk, and her child came to Kasipathi auto stand near the Reliance Digital showroom in Hyderguda. There she stopped an autorickshaw and put her child in the backseat. While she was boarding, an argument broke out between the auto driver and her, and the child started crying.

When she started shouting, the driver drove away. Her clothes got stuck on the side bumper and she was dragged for around 100 meters on the PVNR Expressway. The people who were at the auto stand saw this and raised an alarm. The driver stopped and took off the woman’s cloth stuck in the bumper, put down the child and sped away. Later, the public helped her to relax, and she walked away along with the child.
