Hyderabad: Constable ‘slaps’ complainant

Jeedimetla inspector P. Ramana Reddy said Siva Krishna’s statement had been taken and an inquiry was on.

Hyderabad: In a rather bizarre turn of events, a man who lodged a complaint on Dial 100 about some persons creating a nuisance at Jeedimetla was allegedly beaten up by a constable. The victim took the issue to the notice of senior officials, who ordered an inquiry to ascertain facts.

On Sunday night, when one Siva Krishna, a resident of HAL Colony, complained about the nuisance, he received a call from the police that a patrol team would be reaching the spot.

The trouble mongers left the place in the meanwhile and Siva Krishna informed the police about it. The trouble-makers returned, and Siva Krishna called the police.

Constable Koteshwar Rao who went to the spot and dispersed the gathering, reportedly went to Siva Krishna’s house and misbehaved with him by using objectionable language and slapped him for repeatedly calling and disturbing his sleep.

Siva Krishna reached out to senior police officials through the Hawk Eye app and informed them about the incident. They asked the station house officer to look into the matter.

Jeedimetla inspector P. Ramana Reddy said Siva Krishna’s statement had been taken and an inquiry was on.
