Hyderabad: K. Gangareddy, Madhapur additional DCP, was found kicking and assaulting a short film director, who was accused of harassing a female techie. An inquiry is ordered by the commissioner. Mr Gangareddy, who was earlier posted as ACP of the Rajendranagar division, was recently promoted as additional DCP. Yoge Kumar Mutyala alias Yogi, a short film director, was booked under charges of outraging the modesty of a woman. After the complaint, he was counselled by the SHE Teams at the Gachibowli woman police station.
However, when he remained stubborn, he was sent to the additional DCP for further counselling. While the ADCP was talking to the accused, one of his friends allegedly filmed the scene on his mobile, which went viral on Saturday. In the video, the ADCP is seen kicking Yogi twice and slapping him on the face. “He had three cases against him for harassing women. Even while we were interrogating, he used all vulgar language and abused her.” Mr Gangareddy said. Sandeep Shandilya, Cyberabad police commissioner, has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
