Guntur circle inspector, wife held for cheating
Nellore: Taking advantage of the facebook acquaintance, a Guntur circle inspector and his second wife cheated a businessman to the extent of Rs 4 crore. The fraud committed by a circle inspector of central crime station at Guntur Kakarla Sesha Rao, who is supposed to take action against such offenders, created flutter in the region.
Based on the complaint of the victim, Rayapaneni Ramanaiah Naidu in Gudur I- town police has held Kakarla Sesha Rao, his second wife Prasanna Lakshmi, daughter-in-law Mounika, father-in-law Guravaiah and son Harikrishna at Guntur on Saturday. The accused were produced before the media at Gudur on Saturday evening.
According to Gudur CI T.V. Subba Rao, Mr Naidu belongs to Vadlapudi village in Manubolu mandal and presently living at society colony in Gudur. He is into aquaculture and involved in some charitable activities. Prasanna Lakshmi befriended Mr Naidu in 2014 appreciating his philanthropist deeds based on his posts in the facebook. She told him that her husband is a CI in Guntur and in case he wants to buy lands in Guntur area.
The CI also collected Rs 50 lakh from a doctor known to Mr Naidu after promising coveted Padma Shri award. The couple threatened to kill him when he demanded them to pay back the money taken. Left with no other alternative, the victim lodged a complaint with Gudur I Town police last month and police after thorough investigation arrested the corrupt CI and his family members. CI Subba Rao said they have to arrest five more people connected to the case.
