Hyderabad: Gang held for cheating unemployed
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Central Crime station police apprehend a man on Thursday for cheating the public in the pretext of providing jobs in the IT industry. The accused was identified as Manukonda Ramana Rao.
“He had invited several unemployed engineering graduates through advertisements posted in social media in 2013 and had promised to arrange interviews at various software firms including IBM and Cognizant. He, along with other accomplices and ex-IBM employees, identified as V. Suja Bala, G. Jagadeeshwar Reddy and Ramesh Basvani, demanded the job aspirants to deposit cash in their bank accounts,” said the police. The victims also received mails from Sujay Bala, calling them for interviews.
“As Bala was working in the firm, Rao and the interviewees were allowed access for interviews held by Jagadeeswar Reddy and Ramesh Basvani,” CCS police said.
They sent fake offer letters via mail after the interviews and when the victims verified with the firm, they realised that the letters were fake. The accused were sent to remand was produced before court and was remanded in judicial custody.
