Woman raped, robbed in moving car, left near ORR

The other woman who had jumped from the car alerted the police through Dial 100.

Hyderabad: A 33-year-old woman from Saroornagar claimed that she was kidnapped and raped in a moving car by the driver and his two friends, while her friend jumped out and sustained injuries. Rachakonda police received an SOS call at 3 am from the second woman and launched a massive search to trace the victim who was found at an isolated location near the Outer Ring Road.

A case of kidnap, rape, outraging the modesty of woman and confinement along with charges of the Criminal Amendment Act was booked against three persons. The victims, residents of LB Nagar, said they were waiting at a Saibaba temple in Saroornagar at 2 am to go to Hayathnagar on personal work. A car approached them and three persons in the car offered them a lift.

“Midway, the three men started misbehaving with us and made advances. Fearing danger, we requested them to stop the vehicle, but they drove at high speed,” they said. When the vehicle was nearing the ORR in Pedda Amberpet, one of the women jumped out of the car, but the trio drove ahead with the other woman. Police said they drove her to an isolated location and raped her and fled with her mobile phone and Rs 2,000 in cash, leaving her at the spot.

Meanwhile, the wo-man who had jumped from the car alerted the police through Dial 100. Following the alert, teams of Rachakonda police started a search for the second woman. “We traced her and shifted her to hospital and registered a case against the three suspects,” said the officials.
