Hyderabad: A man hacked a 23-year-old woman, with whom he was having a relationship, in broad daylight at Erragadda on Monday evening. G. Subhash Kumar, an electrician, snatched a sickle from a coconut vendor and attacked her after an argument. Ms Sravanthi slapped Ravi Kumar and he attacked her with the sickle on her head and hand.
SR Nagar inspector Mohd Waheeduddin said she was rushed to Gandhi hospital. Ravi also sustained injuries as he was beaten by passersby. Police said Ms Sravanthi, a resident of Subhashnagar in SR Nagar, used to have frequent quarrels with her husband Yadagiri due to her alleged affair with Ravi Kumar. She had lodged complaints against the husband twice in the past. They were counselled and sent to Bharosa counselling centre for further counselling.
