2 Nalsar Law students caught with marijuana
Hyderabad: Two law students from Nalsar University were caught in possession of 475 grams of Ganja on Sunday. The police said that Yuvaraj Ratan Mehra and Arvind Kumar, the accused, were returning to their campus after purchasing the drug in Dhoolpet when they were caught. Yuvaraj, who hails from Delhi, and Arvind, who hails from Rajasthan, both reside in the hostels located on campus. They were caught by police teams who noticed the suspicious movement of an autorickshaw near the main entrance of the University and intercepted it.
Packets of Ganja, two beer bottles and three beer cans were found in the students’ possession. D. Bhaskar Reddy, the Inspector of Shameer-pet, said that the arrested students, as well some others, had been consuming Ganja for over a year. “The arrested claim that they had bought the drug for their own consumption, but we suspect that they may have been supplying it to other students on campus as well,” he said.
Inquiries revealed that the students had left the campus throu-gh the main gate at 6 pm and travelled to Dhoolpet by RTC bus. They said that they had asked a group of auto-rickshaw drivers park-ed near the Gandhi statue in Dhoolpet for 500 grams of Ganja, and one of them had produced it.
