Hyderabad: The Commissioner Task Force (central zone) on Saturday arrested a person who allegedly duped people by collecting money and promising them jobs in the police department and the Secretariat.

The accused, Sandeep Arva, 31, is a native of Mahbubnagar district and had completed diploma in hospitality management.

He came to the city in 2000 and set up an ice-cream company. Later, he ventured into the real estate sector. Both the businesses did not succeed.

“To make up for the losses, he hatched a plan and contacted a few job aspirants, saying that he had contacts with higher ups in the police and the Secretariat. He collected up to Rs 12 lakh from them,” said the police. He had also duped many students who had completed MBBS from China to get the certificates from MCI.
