Man dies in Omni hospital, kin protest
Hyderabad: A man who was admitted for abdominal pain as he suffered from a severe cardiac arrest on Thursday morning led to the man’s instant death at Omni Hospitals.
Srinivas Reddy, 32, was undergoing treatment at Omni hospitals and relatives alleged negligence on part of duty doctors who didn’t attend to the case properly.
A police complaint has been filed at the Kukatpally police station. Relatives also protested outside the hospital.
Dr G. Manjunath, general manager operations at Omni Hospital Kukatpally says, “The patient was admitted with abdominal pain. There was ultrasound of abdomen and ECG was carried out. But after the diagnostic tests got completed he started vomiting blood. There were blood stools after sometime. Before the doctors could assess further he had a sudden cardiac arrest and collapsed.”
The hospital has been asking the relatives what happened before he was admitted but there has been no answer from them. The vomiting of blood is usually seen if there is alcohol or poison taken. The police have been handed all the medical records by the hospital for further investigation.
