Suspecting wife's death, man ends life; woman found alive
Hyderabad: After a quarrel over his wife refusing him money for liquor, a 32-year-old private sector employee ended his life by jumping into the Saroornagar lake. Madhu Mohan left a suicide note at the spot, saying that he was “depressed after his wife’s” death, which turned out to be false, police said.
Chintala Madhu Mohan, a resident of Saroornagar, worked for a plastic manufacturing company and was married to Sabitha eight years ago. The couple has two sons. Mohan’s parents and two younger sisters also stayed with him. In recent months, he got addicted to liquor and was irregular at work. He started harassing his parents and wife for money. On Monday evening, he had an argument with his wife demanding money for liquor. When she refused, he fought with his father and then left home.
On Tuesday morning, his body was recovered from Saroornagar lake. Police identified him wi-th his Aadhar card and the suicide note in his pocket. In the note, he said his wife Sabitha died due to his harassment and he could no more live without her. He also apologised to his parents, siblings and his sons for taking this extre-me step. Police confirmed that Sabitha is alive. They registered a suspicious death case and handed over the body to the family after post mortem.
