Hyderabad: Man riding pillion slips on speed breaker, dies
Hyderabad: A 34-year-old man died while undergoing treatment after falling off the bike he was riding pillion on, when it went over a speed breaker, late on Sunday.
The Medipally police identified the victim as P. Krishna Reddy, a private employee. According to the police, Krishna Reddy was riding pillion on a bike driven by one Rajni Kumar. Rajni Kumar went over the speed breaker at Boduppal, and Krishna Reddy lost his balance and fell on the road.
Anji Reddy, inspector of police, Medipally, said, “According to the complaint, a person named Rajni Kumar was riding the bike at a fast speed. When the bike passed over a speed breaker at Boduppal, the victim Krishna Reddy fell off the bike and sustained severe head injury. While undergoing treatment in a private hospital, he died on Monday. The driver Rajni Kumar is absconding.”
When inquired about the condition of the speed breaker, Mr Anji Reddy said that all the speed breakers in the area have enough lighting and they were marked with Zebra crossings.
K. Naveen Kumar, brother of Krishna Reddy said, “My brother used to work as a printing operator. He called home and said that he was with his friend Rajni Kumar and would reach home in an hour. But some locals called us through my brother’s mobile and informed about us the accident.”
The police registered a case under Section 304(a)(death due to negligence) IPC and handed over the body to the family members after post mortem examination.
