Chennai: Woman Infosys employee hacked to death at railway station
Chennai: A 24-year-old woman working with Infosys was hacked to death at Nungambakkam railway station in Chennai on Friday morning.
The incident took place around 6.30 am. The woman was waiting to board a train to reach her office in Mahindra Tech City.
According to reports, Swathi was waiting at the platform when a young man, wearing a green shirt and black pants, approached her. The man suddenly pulled out a sickle from a bag that he was carrying and slashed Swathi below her jaw.
Swathi was left bleeding to death on the railway platform with several cut injuries on her face and neck.
It is learnt that a cab driver had fought with her last week. Police are investigating that angle too.
Her father Sreenivasan, a retired central government employee, had dropped her at the station in the morning.
