Hyderabad: 2 men held for robbery
Hyderabad: Two men robbed an accident victim, a milk trader, at Chilkalguda as he passed out under a tree.
T. Subrahmanyam, belonging to Kadappa, had come to Secunderabad in connection with his business. As he was crossing the road at night near the Secunderabad railway station, a bike hit him injuring his leg.
After taking first aid at a hospital he went to Chilkalguda and fell asleep under a tree due to fatigue.
Two men who happened to see him stole his Rs 25,000 and a smart phone.
Police arrested the thieves after a complaint from the victim.
The suspects are Nellore Kalyan Krishna, 26, a labourer from Vijayawada, and Guru Naresh, 21, a labourer from Mahbubnagar district.
Police said that on April 23 night Subramanyam had come to Secunderabad.
“He was crossing the road near the railway station when a biker hit him. He fell down and suffered an injury on his leg. After getting first aid at a hospital he went to Chilkalguda. As he was tired he sat down under a tree by the roadside and fell asleep. When he woke up his Rs 25,000 and a smartphone were missing. He approached us,” said Chilkalguda additional inspector K. Srinivasulu.
During investigation, police found the duo was roaming around the area and found the victim sleeping. They searched him and stole his cash and phone.
The duo are in judicial custody now.
