Hyderabad: A 66-year-old retired IAF employee was killed in an accident on Monday at Neredmet. Police said the mishap occurred when a speeding GHMC truck hit the bike Ramakrishna was driving and ran over him. Ramakrishna suffered serious head injury and died.
Police said T. Ramakrishna, 66, a resident of AS Rao Nagar retired from the air force and was working for a private firm in Punjagutta. On Monday morning, he went for work on his bike. After crossing Neredmet junction he was proceeding towards Secunderabad when the truck hit his bike from behind.
“The truck was speeding. Ramakrishna fell down and came under the front left tire of the truck. The helmet he was wearing also broke,” Neredmet SI D. Kishan said. Ramakrishna died on the spot. A case of causing death through negligence was registered and a hunt is on trace the truck driver who fled from the spot.
