Police clueless on absconding inspector in double suicide case
HYDERABAD: Police are still clueless about the whereabouts of Ramayampet circle inspector T. Nagarjuna Goud, an accused in the double suicide case in Kamareddy.
Of the seven accused, six, including TRS Ramayampet municipal chairman Palle Jitender Goud, and the Ramayampet agriculture market committee chairman Saraf Yadagiri, have surrendered.
Nagarjuna Goud is absconding from April 16, when realtor Gangam Santosh and his mother Padma committed suicide in Kamareddy due to alleged harassment by seven accused.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Nagarjuna Goud worked as SI and CI for around five years in Ramayampet in two spells. He had close association with a few elected representatives.
The deceased Santosh said in a video call before his death that his mobile data was stolen after the CI seized his mobile phone for allegedly posting objectionable comments in Facebook.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Banswada DSP Jaipal Reddy, the special investigation officer of the double suicide case, said that they issued notices to four journalists. “We will record their statements as they were in touch with the victims before the suicide”, he said.
Meanwhile, Ramayampet MLA Padma Devender Reddy is reportedly unable to react as her followers are the main accused in the case. BJP leaders have targeted the legislator and her followers with regard to case.
