KOLLAM: Two senior citizens were killed in an accident at Oachira on Sunday morning. The duo was having a casual talk near Pallimukku, when a car that lost control rammed onto them. The dead have been identified as Jalaludeen Kunju (68) Bismi Manzil, Valiyakulan-gara in Ochira and Viswanathan (65) Puthenkandathil in Changarankulangara. The incident took place at Pallimukku near Changarankulan-gara by around 7 am.
The duo parked their cycles by the side of the road for a casual talk when the incident took place. A speeding car coming from Thiruvananthapuram rammed onto them. According to Police, the car driver is suspected to have slept while driving which caused the accident. The car dirver, Anu from Payikkuzhi in Oachira was also injured in the accident after the car hit another vehicle to come to a halt. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Kollam. The bodies were released to relatives after autopsy.
