Visakhapatnam: Man chops off wife's lover's palms

Dhanunjaya and wife of Padi Naresh, of Kottaguda, were allegedly in an illicit relationship for three months.

VIZIANAGARAM: In a shocking incident on Thursday night, a man with his two accomplices chopped off the palms of a 28-year-old Biddika Dhanunjaya who was allegedly having an affair with his wife at Kottaguda under Gumma Lakshmipuram police station limits in Vizianagaram district. B. Dhanunjaya, a daily wage worker and native of Marriguda in the district, has been staying at Kottaguda area for past few years. Dhanunjaya and wife of Padi Naresh, of Kottaguda, were allegedly in an illicit relationship for three months.

Naresh, who is also a daily wage worker had warned Dhanunjaya and his wife a number of times and was furious when he saw Dhanunjaya and his wife together recently. Naresh decided to teach a lesson to Dhanunjaya and he took the help of his father Shivannarayana and cousin Prasad. On Thursday night, the trio went to Dhanunjaya’s house and took him out on the pretext of discussing some issue. Later, Naresh picked up a fight with Dhanunjaya and he slashed his palms with a sharp-edged sword.

The trio dragged the victim back to his home. Based on the information from the locals, cops rushed the spot. Dhanunjaya was shifted to KGH. However, on Friday, the trio surrendered before the police. A case is registered and investigation is on.
