Tamil Nadu: Paedophile, loan shark detained under Goondas Act
Chennai: A paedophile and a loan shark were among three persons who were served notice under preventive detention provision of the Goondas Act. The third is a petty thief.
The paedophile Daswant (22) was arrested in the missing case of a 7-year-old girl from her residence near Mangadu.
The case was solved when her burnt mortal remnants were recovered near Anakaputhur where her corpse was disposed of on February 7 by her neighbour who sexually abused her before killing her.
The loan shark has been identified as ‘Kanduvaddi’ Kamaraj (42), who was arrested after he managed to put his doctor client behind the bars in Lucknow on a foisted complaint of cheating.
The suspect had forged promissory notes issued by Madras Medical College (MMC) Prof M. Sudheer as to have borrowed '1 crore from a Lucknow based gang while the actual amount borrowed was '20 lakhs, which the doctor claims he had repaid.
The third person, George was arrested in two theft cases in Nolambur. The trio was served the detention orders issued by the city police Commissioner S. George.
