Hyderabad: Nizam college students booked for pelting stones at cops
Hyderabad: Central Zone Police booked a case against some Nizam College students for pelting stones at cops and injuring a constable during the rally on Wednesday.
On Thursday, 15 protesting students were detained. A case was also registered at the Osmania University police station against Sandeep Tomar who attempted suicide along with former TRS leader Cheruku Sudhakar who was accompanying Sandeep when he tried to immolate himself.
On Wednesday near Nizam College, while cops were controlling the crowd, a group started pelting stones on the cops. One constable, Srikanth of Abids Police station, was injured. On his complaint a case for voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty(332), rioting(147) read with unlawful assembly(149) of IPC was registered against a group of students. CC footages were being checked to identify those behind the stone pelting. Meanwhile, an attempt to suicide case(309 IPC) was booked in against Sandeep Tomar a student leader tried to immolate himself in the Osmania University campus during the protest on Wednesday. Cheruku Sudhakar from Telangana Udyama Vedika was also booked for provocating Sandeep at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, around 30 persons who were staging protests across the city condemning Wednesday’s Police action were also detained for Preventive custody and were released later. On Wednesday 447 persons were detained in Hyderabad, 226 in Rachakonda and 77 in Cyberabad limits for taking part in the protest at various locations.
