Bengaluru: Marathahalli police who were under tremendous pressure not to register POCSO charges against the school management finally gave in. On Thursday, they registered a case under section 21 of the POCSO act against the school management.

Protests against the school authorities meanwhile continued even on Thursday. According to several parents, many more incidents of sexual assault are expected to come out in next couple of days as following the incident many kids have started to behave strangely leading to suspicion.

The parents of the kids allegedly molested at the pre-school, Bellandur will be meeting MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar seeking his intervention in getting the justice on Friday.

Apparently, the police have not shared the copy of FIRs filed by the parents, even though there are seven cases so far. In lieu of this, the parents decided to submit their grievance with the MP.

How many schools follow these rules?

  • All school buses and vans must be equipped with GPS system and CCTV cameras.
  • Bus/van drivers must not be allowed to have any interaction with the children during and after school hours.
  • All schools must depute to Floor Vigilance Officer, who should be sitting in a transparent cabinet on the school premises.
  • None other than authorised personnel should be allowed inside/near the gym, swimming pool, yoga class and places where physical activities take place.
  • All schools must have SMS alert facility about the pickup and drop off students, about the persons who come to pick the students.
