Hyderabad: A four month pregnant housewife was murdered by her husband at their residence in Marredpally. According to the police, the victim was identified as Satyavati alias Tara, 27, wife of Bidlani Sunny, 30.
The couple fell in love and got married in 2013 with the consent of both families and were residing at Valmikinagar in East Marredpally.
A year later, Satyavati started living separately after she was constantly harassed and abused by Sunny, who would come home drunk and torture her, said Marredpally police inspector, A. Srinivasulu.
“On Monday evening, Satyavati asked Sunny to take her to the hospital for a regular check up. When Satyavati’s father tried calling her later that evening, no one answered. On Tuesday, he asked Sunny about her whereabouts, and the former claimed that he did not know where she was,” the official said.
On Wednesday afternoon, Sunny’s father Surender, approached Satyavati’s father Chintala Ramulu, and told that Sunny had confessed to murdering his daughter.
The two men then went to Satyavati’s residence and found the house locked from inside. “Upon breaking in, they found Satyavati’s decomposed body on the bed with blood oozing out of her nose,” said the official. Based on a complaint from the victim’s father, a case was booked under Section 302 (murder) and 498-A (Husband or relative of husband subjecting her to cruelty) of IPC and Sunny was arrested.
