Chennai: Two college students end lives in two incidents

The Mambalam police registered a case and sent his body to Royapettah government hospital for post mortem.

Chennai: A 19-year-old, diploma student from Madurai who came to the city to participate in the golden jubilee celebration of the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) in Guindy, died after falling off the third floor of a serviced apartment in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Shah Rukh Khan( 19) a third-year diploma student from a college in Melur, Madurai.

According to police, the students had been provided accommodation in the Rajalakshmi Service Apartment in T Nagar and Shah Rukh Khan shared a room on the third floor with his friends, Sukesh, Krishnakumar and Jamal.

Meanwhile, at around 3 am on Wednesday, apartment in-charge Sathish noticed Khan lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor and alerted the police.

The Mambalam police registered a case and sent his body to Royapettah government hospital for post mortem.

Primary investigations revealed that Shahrukh Khan had been checking his cellphone till late in the night and seemed upset.

Further investigations are on. Similarly, In another incident, 18 -year-old college student killed himself at his residence in Kodungaiyur allegedly because his seniors at college threatened him over a fight.

The deceased was identified as D.Naveen Avinash( 18) a first-year B.A student at a private college in Madhavaram.

Sources said Naveen was allegedly threatened by senior students in the college and this led him to take the drastic step, said police

Based on the complaint by Naveen’s father, Kodungaiyur police registered a case and are conducting inquiries with senior students.
