Loose truck cargo kills four in auto in Sangareddy district

Police registered a case against the trailer driver.

Hyderabad: In a scene straight out of the Hollywood thriller Final Destination, four people in an autorickshaw were killed when a purlin bundle from a trailer truck flew into the air and fell on an autorickshaw in Sangareddy on Monday. Four people were injured in the accident. The victims are Saroj Kumar, 28, Suraj Kumar Baktha, 23, Chuttu Baktha, 18, and Sudhama, 20, from Assam.

Police said a trailer truck carrying purlin bundles came to Nuevo Sol, a solar company in Indrakaran village. But the company returned the load. Meanwhile, an autorickshaw carrying eight persons was going to Indrakaran. As the road was full of potholes the trailer was moving abnormally. “The pur-lins got loose and one bundle fell on the autorickshaw killing four on the spot,” inspector Venugopal said.

Manas Majji, Ruben, Pradheep and auto driver Pandu Goud sustained severe injuries and are undergoing treatment. Police registered a case against the trailer driver.
