22-year-old woman's body found on PVNR road in Hyderabad

Police said the accident occurred at around 6 am but there were no eyewitnesses.

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old woman security officer was found dead on PVNR expressway on Monday morning. Her head was run over by a vehicle. Police suspects she is a victim of a hit and run case. Kavya Sri, a resident of Attapur, was a security officer at a firm in the DLF Building at Gachibowli.

She had climbed the ramp of the PVNR expressway at pillar #76. Police found earphones in her ear which indicated that she must not have noticed an oncoming vehicle from behind.

"It looks like she was hit by a vehicle. There are tyre marks on her body, and fractures," said Langer plice inspector Md. Javed.

Kavya’s mother Tejaswini said she had left home early in the morning. Police said the accident occurred at around 6 am but there were no eyewitnesses.

"She usually takes a cab to go to Madhapur from Attapur. Though it is still not confirmed it is suspected that she climbed the ramp of PVNR to get into the cab. It is a usual practice for cabs to stop at the PVNR Expressway to pick up people," said the Inspector.

Pedestrians and two wheelers are not allowed on PVNR Expressway, which connects the city with RGI Airport. Police have now collected CCTV footage from neaby areas to investigate the incident.
