Hyderabad: Income Tax teams continued raids on offices and residences of chairman Tavinder Singh Kohli and officials of Guru Nanak Educational Society Group. The raids were initiated at 14 premises of the society offices, engineering and medical colleges and infrastructure companies being run under the group on Tuesday.
Sources from the income-tax department said that the raids were continued at Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Tolichowki, Ameerpet and other localities on Wednesday. The raids were conducted at Guru Nanak Educational Society, Raghuram Infrastructure Private Limited, Namishree Infra and two colleges.
“Apart from the seized Rs 7.6 crore cash from the premises, our staff is verifying bank lockers which are yet to be opened. We are compiling the assets and the previous tax records,” an official said. The assessment of the value of properties will be concluded by Thursday he said and added that officials had seized a few documents, ledgers, hard disks from accounts section and receipt books,” the sources said.
