Case filed on former Congress minister
Hyderabad: D. Sridhar Babu, former minister and senior Congress leader, and two others were booked by the city police for trying to implicate a TRS leader in a narcotic case.
Mr Sridhar Babu, however, flayed the TRS for filing a case against him. “The Chief Minister is misusing law to check the Opposition as we were opposing the Kaleswaram project,” the former minister said.
Babu along with two Congress workers, Bhargav and Sudershan, were booked under Section 29 (punishment for abetment and criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Sub-stances (NDPS) Act 1985.
According to a complaint filed by Kishan Reddy, president of the Muttaram mandal of TRS in Peddapalli district, Sudershan sought help from from Bhargav and Babu to place marijuana in his house.
Reddy submitted the telephone conversations wherein Sudarshan is heard requesting Babu’s help to implicate Reddy in a false narcotics case, Mr Joel Davis, DCP (central), said.
