KAKINADA: The death of Special Public Prosecutor Mohmmad Akbar Azam (50) has turned into a murder case and his wife Mohmmad Ahmad Unnisa Begum (36) has been named the main accused.
She along with other two accused, Rajesh Jain and Kosuri Kirankumar, have been arrested by One Town Police.
SHO Rajani Kumar told the media on Monday evening that Akbar Azam died on June 23 and the family members felt it was a natural death. But, after verifying his wife Unnisa Begum’s mobile phone conversations with the other accused, Akbar Azam’s father Hussain lodged a complaint with the SP, Ravindranath, on August 17.
Following the complaint, Akbar Azam’s body was disinterred from the coffin and a post-mortem done. Based on the report, the accused were interrogated.
It was revealed that Unnisa Begum killed Akbar Azam by making use of a high dose of chloroform with the help of Kiran Kumar and Rajesh Jain.
Unnisa Begum was produced before a court on Monday evening. The One Town police registered a case.
