Bengaluru: Two pedestrians, including a woman, were killed after a mini bus knocked them down on Krishnananda Nagar Main Road in Rajajinagar traffic police limits on Tuesday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Bhagyamma, 50, a resident of Lakshmidevinagar in Laggere, and Mohammed Ghani, 60, of Krishnananada Nagar. Both are said to be labourers.
The mini-bus that provides generator service for film shooting was going from Yeshwanthpur towards Rajajinagar.
Around 6.30 pm, the bus started moving backwards on the steep road and hit two two wheelers and two cars before knocking down the two pedestrians, who died on the spot.
The bus driver abandoned the vehicle and fled.
"The vehicle appears to have suffered a brake failure and the driver could not control it from going back," the police said.
