2 brothers murdered over land row in Nalgonda

Both the victims were attacked with sickles and other deadly weapons.

Hyderabad: Two youths from a family were brutally murdered in Nalgonda district. Police suspect land dispute to be the reason for the death of Dasari Annamayya, 24, and Dasari Anjaneyulu, 26. Their relative, who was also attacked escaped with injuries.

Police said Dasari Yadayya and his family were having a long-pending dispute regarding a two-and-a-half acre agricultural plot located in Kurampalli village with their distant relatives.

The dispute was that Yadayya’s family and the other party were both planning to buy the same land, but the other party gave up and Yadayya purchased it.

Since then there was hostility began between the families. Earlier too there were fights but they were settled by elders.

On Tuesday morning, Annamayya and Anjaneyulu, along with their relative Doti Yadayya went to their field as usual.

As soon as they entered the field, a gang who was waiting there with weapons attacked them with sickles and other deadly weapons.

“They also attacked Yadayya, but he managed to escape. Annamayya and Anjaneyulu sustained deep injuries on the head, neck, back and other parts of the body and died on the spot. Yadayya too suffered severe injuries and is hospitalised,” said Chandur circle inspector P. Ramesh Kumar, adding that according to eyewitness, Mallesh, Bharat, Saidulu and seven others were involved in the attack.

Based on a complaint from their father Yadayya, the police have registered a case for murder, attempt to murder and rioting. Police has set up special teams to nab the suspected killers.
