MLA K Abhayachandra Jain pushed me after accident: Bajpe woman
Mangaluru: A woman, who was allegedly hit by Moodabidri MLA K. Abhayachandra Jain’s car on Friday, has filed a complaint against him, alleging that the legislator had misbehaved with her and pushed her after the accident.
The car, being driven by Jain’s driver, crashed into 48-year-old Jainabu at her hometown Kinnipadavu near Bajpe on Friday evening. She alleged that when the car stopped, the MLA pushed her.
The Bajpe police have registered a case under IPC 229 and 337 (for accident) and IPC 323 (assault). The police seized the car and released it only on Saturday night.
But sources said that the mirror of the car, which was moving slowly, only slightly grazed past the woman and she fell on the ground, sustaining minor injuries. Seeing the woman fall, the MLA immediately stopped the car and came to speak to the woman.
“The woman was angry and shouted at the MLA. Many local youngsters too gathered at the spot and raised their voice against the MLA. Jain chose not to stand at the spot and went away in his car,” the source said.
Local leaders said that the incident has taken a political colour, as some SDPI workers gathered at the spot.
