Kabali tickets in black; gang held
Hyderabad: Special Operations Teams (SOT) from Cyberabad East Commissionerate arrested 11 persons selling tickets of just-released Kabali movie in the black near 11 theatres on Friday. Police seized 126 tickets and Rs 11,640 in cash from them. The accused were selling tickets before the morning show. Police said based on credible information, they formed special teams and deployed them at theatres to check sale of tickets in the black. Tickets were sold upto Rs 2,500 near some theatres. “They were operating in collusion with theatre staff and parking lot staff,” an official from SOT said.
Raids were conducted at Krisna and Srinivasa theatres at Uppal, Krishna Chitra Mandir at Nagaram, Raghavendra at Malkajgiri, Sharada at Kushaiguda, Vijayalaxmi at LB Nagar, Konark at Dilsukh Nagar, Sushma at Vanasthali-puram, Indranagendra theatre at Saroor Nagar and two others. Cases were booked against the theatre managements. The arrested persons and the seized material were handed over to the concerned police stations.
Cyberabad West special teams also nabbed eight persons selling Kabali movie tickets in the black and seized 63 tickets, 18 online tickets and Rs 1,890 in cash from them. The raids were conducted at Swapna theatre at Katedan, Ganesh at Shamshabad, Srilatha at Chandanagar, Vishwanath at KPHB and Cine town at Miyapur.
