Swaroopnagar: Juvenile steals from friends, held
Hyderabad: A juvenile boy was caught by the Malkajigiri CCS police on Friday for allegedly committing theft at a house in Swaroopnagar a month ago. The police recovered 16.3 tola gold ornaments and an electronic tab, all worth Rs 5 lakh
“The boy was a family friend of Sri Parika Rama Krishna, 44, the owner of the house where the theft took place. Rama Krishna and his wife had gone to Kerala in May, leaving their gold unguarded, as they did not suspect any wrongdoing. In their absence, the boy visited their home when the complainant’s brother-in-law was staying. When the latter went out, the juvenile stole the gold articles from the cupboard,” said K.R. Naga Raju, DCP Crimes, Rachakonda.
After a few weeks Rama Krishna realised that his gold articles were missing, when he checked the cupboard. Following this, he lodged a complaint with Uppal police station in May end. The officials traced the boy with all the stolen articles kept in an almirah at his home, on Friday. The gold articles have been seized and the boy has been sent for further investigation to Uppal police station.
The father of the juvenile is a DCM van driver and his mother is a cook, who often stayed out due to their busy work schedules and thus, the parents claimed about being unaware of the stolen property at home, said the official.
