Vijayawada: A youth was murdered by his alleged rivals after trapping him with a fake Facebook account in the guise of a girl on city outskirts near Punadipadu. According to the deputy commissioner of police Kranti Rana Tata, the deceased was identified as Shaik Rafi, 28, a resident of Rajeev Swagruha Colony in Mangalagiri. Rafi, who used to run a small food cart, had rivalry with some persons who filed a complaint against his brother regarding a financial issue.
Rafi, who was in thehabit of chatting in the Facebook, had come to Kankipadu to meet a girl who was chatting with him for the past few days along with his friend Munna. “Rivals of Shafi would have used a fake Facebook account to trap him. They have called him to come near ladies hostel near Punadipadu and murdered him brutally using knifes. We have called for a detailed investigation and working on this cased based on call data and mobile tower details,” said Mr Kanti Rana Tata.
