Neredmet police arrest man for stealing gold

Police said Saikumar, a resident of Adarsh Nagar in Saketh used to work on daily wages.

Hyderabad: Neredmet police have arrested a 35-year-old man on Tuesday for breaking into a house and stealing nine tolas of gold.

Police said Saikumar, a resident of Adarsh Nagar in Saketh used to work on daily wages. Since he knew driving, people used to hire him for trips and Karan Reddy from Raghavendra Hills was one of them.

On Friday, Karan requested Saikumar to drive their car to go to some place, but he refused citing some work. Knowing that the residents will be away, he went to the house after a few hours and opened the door using the key that was hidden near the front door. He then entered the bedroom, broke an almirah and stole nine tolas of gold jewellery kept inside it.

During investigation, police found that Mr Reddy had spoken to Mr Saikumar and questioned him on Tuesday. “He admitted the offence. The gold has been recovered,” said P. Krishna Murthy, ACP of Kushaiguda.
