Hyderabad: The Dabeerpura police on Tuesday detained a few members of the family of Hyder Khan, who had allegedly killed his wife with a hammer at his house on Saturday.
According to police sources, the two brothers of Hyder Khan had reportedly helped him in destroying the evidence and dumping her disposing of the body at a garbage dump in an auto rickshaw.
“After committing the murder Hyder paid Rs. 14,00o to his brother and asked him to arrange an air ticket. On the same night, he left the country after disposing the body,” said the official.
Investigation revealed that on Saturday, Hyder took Zeba Naaz from her house around 2pm and reached his residence at Dabeerpura around 4pm.
“An argument ensued between the couple over some issue, after which the man took a hammer and hit the woman on her head, leading to her instant death,” said the police.
After killing the woman, Hyder got panicked and tried to escape from the place, leaving behind the body. However, his brothers asked him to dispose it of immediately for fear of getting caught.
“Family members of Zeba Naaz, who were searching came to the house of Hyder but his family feigned ignorance about her whereabouts. However, they came to know about it on the way back home when some locals spotted a body lying on the road and a mob gathered at the place. The family then identified the body,” said a police official.
The police have intensified their efforts to bring back Hyder Khan from UAE and sought help from the Indian Embassy in UAE through the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs.
