HYDERABAD: The main accused in the data theft, Kumar Nitish Bhushan, is a college dropout but mastered the art of procuring data of lakhs of customers through various dubious means.
He invested most of his earnings from selling data on buying the latest mobile phones, gold jewelry, and building a house in the Delhi NCR area, investigators found.
After every big deal, he takes a few of his friends on a vacation to Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, or Uttarakhand.
Cybercrime sleuths who began a hunt for him two months ago traced his whereabouts in Delhi but later found that he moved to Goa.
When a team went to Goa and traced him, he was found relaxing in a suite in a five-star hotel along with a few of his friends, whose travel, stay and all other expenses were borne by him.
