TP Chandrasekharan murder haunts Ramakrishnan
KOZHIKODE: CPM is facing a campaign in Perambra constituency where party is considering the candidature of CPM former district secretary TP Ramakrishnan. A section of party workers started a poster campaign in the constituency against Mr Ramakrishnan alleging that he had been lethargic in protecting party when it faced sharp criticism after the murder of TP Chandrasekharan.
Campaigning through facebook and whatsapp against TP is also on. It is to be recalled that TP Ramakrishnan’s China visit soon after the death of TP when party was in a crisis, had triggered off a controversy.
Meanwhile another section alleges that TP Ramakrishnan has been a target of official faction even before the TP murder. The ongoing campaign against TP Ramakrishnan is with the connivance of Mohanan, it was alleged.
However TP Ramakrishnan had reportedly informed the party state leadership about his willingness to keep off from the fray. CPM state secretariat member Elamaram Karim told DC that he believe, none of the true party workers of the constituency would be engaged in such campaigns.
“This must be the handiwork of party foes”, he said. “The posters came during night and later came whatsapp and fb campaign. Some campaigners when tracked found that they operate from overseas destinations”, he added. Mr Karim also dismissed the widespread reports on TP Ramakrishnan’s candidature in Perambra as immature, saying, the LDF state committee is yet to finalize the candidates’ list from the district.
