Mumbai: Following his deposition, 26/11 operative David Coleman Headley’s cross-examination began in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Abdul Wahab Khan, the lawyer of Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal, one of the prime accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack is cross-examining Headley and Special Public Prosecutor in the case Ujjwal Nikam is also present.

Mumbai crime Branch chief Atul Kulkarni also arrived at the court along with Nikam.

Headley, who is testifying as an approver in 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case, was deposed before a special court in Mumbai earlier this month.

In his fourth deposition, he had told the court that he was told to survey naval air station and Siddhivinayak temple, but he discouraged the idea to target them as both were heavily guarded.

In his depositions so far, Headley has revealed important information about the planning behind the terror attacks and his role in the same.

His reconnaissance provided vital information for the 10 LeT terrorists and their handlers, who attacked Mumbai on November 26, 2008, in which 166 persons, including foreign nationals, were killed.

Headley drew maps, took video footage and scouted several targets for the attacks including the Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel and Nariman House during his five visits between 2006 and 2008.
