Chennai: Man gets life sentence for killing sister-in-law

Prabu's wife Vennila developed enmity against Jayaseelan for remaining unemployed. She demanded him to get a job and stay in the house.

Chennai: The Mahila court, Chennai, has awarded life sentenced to a 32-year old unemployed person on a charge of murdering his sister-in-law.

Special public prosecutor, Gowri Asokan said mason J. Prabu of Vellore lived with his family members in MGR Nagar for over seven years. His younger brother J. Jayaseelan, 32 stayed in his house and searched for a job.

Prabu's wife Vennila developed enmity against Jayaseelan for remaining unemployed. She demanded him to get a job and stay in the house.

After developing heated altercation with Vennila over the issue, Jayaseelan attacked her with a deadly weapon.t, MGR Nagar police has registered a case and arrested Jayaseelan. On completion of the trial, the special judge R.N. Manjula sentenced Jayaseelan to undergo life sentence for murdering his sister-in-law and imposed him a fine of ' 5,000.
