Course in cyber probes
Hyderabad: The police is likely to include a new curriculum on cyber crime investigation at the State Police Academy to train recruits. “Cyber crime is already a part of the curriculum which has to be redesigned. The new curriculum has to focus on financial frauds in the cyber world. Since conventional crimes like those against women are now increasingly happening in the cyber world, recruits will have to learn computer skills at every phase of their training,” said a senior police officer.
He said there was already a proposal in place to upgrade the curriculum. The Crime Investigation Department in collaboration with cyber security private firms will conduct frequent training sessions for CID personnel and others police officers in the district.
