Vuyyuru Bar President Assaulted by Advocates
Vijayawada: Vuyyuru Bar Association president K. Gopichand was allegedly assaulted by three advocates on the premises of the junior civil judge court at Vuyyuru in Krishna district on Tuesday.
According to Gopichand, a home guard identified as Nagaraju, who had been involved in the settlement of cases for some time now, had a clash with some lawyers. Gopichand filed a complaint with the superintendent of police Krishna against the home guard and his involvement in the court matters. Subsequently, he was transferred to Kankipadu a few days ago.
Angered by this, three lawyers identified as Pratap, Sudarshan and Suresh picked up an argument with Gopichand for lodging the complaint against the home guard and started abusing him. The argument led to a physical assault on Gopichand.
Gopichand said, “The three lawyers started abusing him and hit me. I along with my other colleagues will take up the issue to the notice of the judge and take further course of action. It is very unfortunate that the three lawyers attacked their fellow lawyer on the court premises.”
