Hyderabad: Man killed by friends over loan repayment

The victim has been identified by the Balanagar police as K. Sudarshan Rao, 53, who has a dye manufacturing business.

Hyderabad: A 55-year-old was murdered by three people after a scuffle broke out among them over financial issues on Tuesday evening. The victim has been identified by the Balanagar police as K. Sudarshan Rao, 53, who has a dye manufacturing business.

According to the police, Sudarshan Rao took Rs 55,000 from one of the accused named Venkatesh Mudiraj, and Rs 30,000 from another accused Narsing Rao. As the victim could not repay on time, the accused harassed him.

Balanagar inspector of police, B. Kishan Kumar said, “On Tuesday at around 8 pm, Laxman called Sudarshan Rao to come to his workshop to discuss the issue. In the course of discussion, an altercation broke out between the three. Following this, the three got into a fist fight and hit Sudarshan on the chest. The accused then fled away from the scene.”

The locals shifted him to a nearby private hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead. The Balanagar police registered a case under Section 302 IPC (Punishment for murder) and SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act on the three accused and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, police handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem at Gandhi Hospital. The Balanagar police have launched a manhunt to nab the killers who are absconding.
