Chennai: 2 pose as anti-trafficking unit cops ,arrested
The case came to light when a popular lodge owner brought up the matter with the Triplicane police station.
Chennai: Two men were arrested by Triplicane police after posing as anti-trafficking unit cops.
The two men, identified as Vinoth and Naresh of Thiruvottriyur have been travelling to lodges and hotels in Triplicane, claiming to be from the Anti-trafficking unit and demanding money.
The case came to light when a popular lodge owner brought up the matter with the Triplicane police station. When the police denied any such raids, the owner was shocked.
They then used the CCTV camera footage from all the lodges which the duo had visited and been able to nab them on Wednesday.
A case was filed and they have been remanded in judicial custody.
