TRS leader murder mystery solved, 6 held
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police solved the murder of TRS leader Vallabh-aneni Srinivas Rao and arrested six persons in connection with the case.
The arrested persons were identified as Mirza Haroon Baig, Syed Yaseen Ali, Mohammed Ibrahim, Mohammed Khaleel, Tajuddin, and Sunil Sing Jadav. Mohammed Sajid, another suspect, is absconding.
Mr Srinivas Rao often picked arguments with residents of Sanath-nagar area. Last month, he had an altercation with Ibrahim, one of the suspects, and filed a case against him at the Sanathnagar police station.
Haroon, a partner of Ibrahim’s, asked Mr Rao to withdraw the case, but Mr Rao refused to relent. Haroon then decided to kill him.
On the night of Nove-mber 15, Haroon and his friends were drinking alcohol at a construction site in Ashok Colony, near Sanath-nagar bus stop, when they saw Mr Rao’s driver Sunil Singh Jadav pass by. Haroon called out to Sunil and enquired about Mr Rao’s whereabouts. He and his friends then went to SR Nagar and convinced Mr Rao to join them for some drinks. While they were drinking, Haroon once again broached the topic of the case against Ibrahim.
“This led to an argument between them, during which Haroon and Sajid attacked Mr Rao with a wooden log and some beer bottles.
The police were able to identify Haroon as the prime suspect based on CCTV camera footage and call records of the deceased and the suspects. The other suspects were also arrested and sent to remand.
