Bodies of Four Youth Retrieved from River Godavari
While bathing in the river, one of the youth started drowning, the other three jumped to rescue him and all the four got washed away
Kakinada: Swimmers have traced from River Godavari bodies of the four youth – Tirumala Raviteja (22), Pendiyala Balaji (21), Anumakonda Karthik (21) and Mudana Phendra Ganesh (21) – of Sajjapuram village in Tanuku mandal of West Godavari district.
These youth, along with three other youngsters, had gone to River Godavari near Gopilanka village of Tallarevu mandal in Kakinada district on Saturday for a picnic.
While bathing in the river, one of them jumped into the river and started getting drowned. Three others jumped in to rescue him. All the four got washed away.
Following a complaint, Korangi police engaged swimmers and boats to trace the bodies. Search operations led to discovery of the bodies, which were brought to the shore in boats.
Bodies of the four youth have been handed over to their parents after a post-mortem at the Government General Hospital in Kakinada on Sunday.
Korangi police have registered a case.
