Police trace out two abducted boys in separate cases

One of the two, aged 6 yrs, had been kidnapped on Thursday from the government hospital in Guntur while the other was kidnapped 2 months ago

VIJAYAWADA: AP police have traced two boys, one kidnapped on Thursday and the other who had gone missing about two months ago.

One of the two, aged six years, had been kidnapped on Thursday from the government hospital in Guntur. The other boy, aged four years, got kidnapped some two months ago from Arundalpet.

Kothapeta police found both these kids with a woman in Khammam district. The boys are being brought back to Guntur for restoring them to their parents.

Police said six-year-old Varshith from Machayapalem village in Bellamkonda mandal of Palnadu district, along with his mother Ludyamma and grandfather Murikipudi Ananda Rao, arrived at the government hospital in Guntur to attend on a patient Keziah, who delivered a baby on October 17.

On Thursday, at about 9:00 a.m., the boy had been playing alone in the corridor of the gynaecology ward. A woman aged about 35 years lured the boy with a toffee and abducted him. Finding the boy missing, his father lodged a complaint at Kothapeta police station.

Based on CCTV footage at the hospital, police got some leads. Accordingly, they formed special teams and traced the abducted boy along with another kid.

According to preliminary investigations, the woman had abducted the two boys and gave them to her kin for bringing them up.
