Bengaluru: Negligence! Father of rogue minor booked

Since the driver is a minor, the police have taken up a case of negligence against the father.

Bengaluru: The RT Nagar traffic police have booked the father of a minor boy who drove a car and rammed it into an auto parked on the roadside, killing the auto driver and injuring another on Friday.

The police booked a case of negligence against the minor’s father and took up a case against him for giving his car to his minor son.

On Friday, the accused minor, a class 10 student at a private school in Sanjaynagar, took his father's car without informing him to practice driving. He hit the road without any guidance or any adult sitting next to him.

RT Nagar traffic police on Saturday sent a notice to the minor's father and the car owner. Since the driver is a minor, the police have taken up a case of negligence against the father.

On Friday at around 1 pm, the minor rammed the car he was driving into an auto. Auto driver Nagaraj, 47, lost his life and his friend Lurdanath seated in the auto sustained serious injuries when the car driven by the minor rammed into the auto on Kalpana Chawla road in RT Nagar.

The impact was such that the rickshaw toppled on the footpath and Nagaraj who was sitting on the driver’s seat sustained severe injuries and died on the spot while Lurdanath was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by passersby.
