Hyderabad: Car driver dies in Outer Ring Road accident

Hyderabad: In a horrifying mishap on the Outer Ring Road in Gachibowli, one person died and five of his family members received critical injuries when the car they were travelling in rammed into a trolley from the rear on Friday morning.

The accident took place on the ORR at Vattinagulapally village when the family belonging to Charmahal in Petlaburj area was heading to Bidar in Karnataka.

According to Gachibowli sub-inspector G. Ramesh, Diljeet Singh, 54, a businessman and five members of his family including his wife Sarvan Kour, cousin Arjit Singh, Hemanji Kour, Surjeet Kour, and a kid Bupendar started towards Bidar in a car (AP 12 P 5067). When the car reached Vattinagulapally, Diljeet, who was behind the wheel did not notice the trolley that had suddenly stopped in the middle of the road.

The speeding car rammed into it resulting in the instant death of Diljeet, while others received fractures. The passersby immediately alerted the police and they were admitted to Care Hospital in Gachibowli for treatment, said the S-I, adding that a case will be registered against the driver of the goods vehicle for stopping the vehicle suddenly.
