KAKINADA: Disha police in Amalapuram rescued a girl from an eve-teaser and arrested the youth within two minutes of her distress call.
The girl, who works in a palm oil garden near Amalapuram, was allegedly harassed by Bokka Bhanu on Sunday night. She immediately dialed the Disha police helpline, and the police reached the spot within two minutes and arrested the accused.
The accused has been identified as Bokka Bhanu, a resident of Amalapuram. He has been booked under Sections 354A (sexual harassment), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
The Amalapuram Police have registered a case and are investigating.
